newspapermen sure do have it easy
newspapers are written electronically these days
it boggles the mind sometimes

e g the reporters write their articles by computer the
photographers take pictures on little computers and transmit
what they ve taken to each other by computers the layout
department arranges the articles and columns by computer
and when all is said and done and you re ready to have your
newspaper read by the world you just push a button and the
entire shebang gets transmitted to the printers who print it
up and send it out the thing of it is you don t even need
paper anymore because you can put your paper up for anybody
with a computer to read

truly these are marvelous times for men to live in
but a jar of delicious paste is hell to come by
such are the punishments of progress

i recently became aware that this computer has the
key which allows you to alternate between the
upper case and lower case quite easily as a matter
of fact the caps lock key existed on my old
typewriter although i could never jump down on it
no matter how hard i tried

this new caps lock key works quite easily i must
say however i do not think it is enough to use
on a continual basis for one to change one s ways
it is tiresome running all the way over to jump
once for a capital letter and then once again to
revert back to lowercase often times in my
practicing i ve forgotten to switch back and ended
up with lines of large angry letters shouting i
had to take a nap on the backspace key to get rid
of them

the apostrophe key also appears to be broken so much
for the new ways well plus que ca change mehitabel
would have said before sauntering off

things sure ain t much better around here in the space of several
decades that s for sure says i
take this computer as an example if you must
for instance while the keys are much easier to jump upon i still
can t make a question mark or an ampersand both of which i
greatly miss in my day to day affairs

i am also having difficulty in moving the mouse around and
getting the pointer to go where it needs to go but on the other
hand clicking comes very natural to me
